Taxi fares from Miami airport: the published rate sheet

There is no flat fare. The rate sheet Miami International publishes for taxis lists a meter, and this page does the arithmetic so you can see what a trip of a given length comes to. A page that quotes a flat figure for South Beach is not quoting this sheet, which lists none.

Read from the airport's own pages on October 18, 2026. The rate sheet's form is dated August 2022.

What a trip comes to

The meter column is arithmetic on the sheet above for a trip of that many road miles with no waiting. It leaves out tolls and any tip. It is what the meter should read, not a quote from a driver. The last column is Quo’s fixed fare for the same distance, from the same function that charges a booking.

How to read that, honestly

  • For a short trip the meter will usually be the lower number. A booked car is not the cheapest way from the airport, and this page is not going to pretend it is.
  • What a booked car changes is certainty: the price is agreed before the car moves, a named captain is waiting inside the terminal, the flight is tracked so a late landing moves the pickup, and there is room for the luggage.
  • Rideshare is not on the rate sheet. Its price is set by the app at the time you ask and can move with demand, so this page does not give a figure for it.
  • The distances in the first column are plain road miles. Quo’s own pages give them for specific trips, with the fare: MIA to South Beach, MIA to Brickell, MIA to PortMiami.

Two things to check before you rely on it

  • The airport’s FAQ page also lists a fuel surcharge of $1.00 per passenger that the rate sheet does not. We cannot tell from the pages which is current, so ask the driver and look for it on the meter.

  • The rate sheet is dated August 2022. Rates are set by Miami-Dade County and can change; the airport’s taxi page is where a current sheet would be posted.
