Florida cruise ports: what each port says about getting there
Each port publishes some of what a passenger needs and leaves some out. This page records what the port's own pages say about taxis, rideshare, porters, drop-off and the airport, with the page each fact came from, and lists what a port does not say, so you know what to ask your cruise line.
Read from the ports' own pages on October 18, 2026. Nothing here comes from a blog or a forum. Your cruise line sets your check-in window and your terminal; its documents win over this page.
PortMiami
Miami-Dade County
Lists cruise terminals AA, A, B, C, D, E, F, G, V and J, each with a street address.

www.miamidade.gov/portmiami/directions-transportation.pageSays the Coral Way Trolley offers free service to and from the port, and that Brightline has a vacation service for cruise passengers.
www.miamidade.gov/portmiami/directions-transportation.pageMiami International Airport's ground-transportation page lists the bus stations for cruise transfers to PortMiami: the north station, concourse D, level 1, Door 1, and the south station, concourse J, level 1, Door 33.
www.miami-airport.com/ground-transportation.aspFort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport's estimate table lists a taxi to PortMiami at $86 and a luxury sedan at $90, while its cruise-passenger page says the fee will be about $67 (a 45-minute trip without traffic). The two figures differ and both are the airport's; neither is a PortMiami rate.

Not on the pages I read: a taxi fare to the port; where a private car picks up; porters; the distance or time from the airport.
Port Everglades
Broward County
Says taxis, ride-sharing, coaches and hotel transportation vehicles are in designated areas outside the cruise terminals, and that the port can be reached by car, taxi, ride-share, bus and rail.
www.porteverglades.net/cruise/getting-here/Recommends dropping off luggage and passengers at the terminal before parking, and says porters at the front of the terminals collect baggage, that tipping is optional, and that porters hired by a cruise line can deliver bags to private cars, taxis and limousines.
www.porteverglades.net/cruise/arriving-and-departing/Says luggage cannot be left or stored at the port because of security regulations.
www.porteverglades.net/cruise/faqs/Says people collecting returning guests may wait free in its cell phone lots until called.
www.porteverglades.net/cruise/arriving-and-departing/Says Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport is minutes away on U.S. 1 and advises allowing at least 45 minutes between flight arrival and cruise check-in time; it puts Miami International 30 to 45 minutes south via I-95.
www.porteverglades.net/cruise/faqs/Says the average taxi fare from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport to the port is $18 to $21, and that taxi rates are subject to change without notice. It is an average, not a flat fare.
www.porteverglades.net/cruise/getting-here/Says there is no negotiated price for ride-share services, and that taxi transfers between terminals inside the port are a flat rate.
www.porteverglades.net/cruise/faqs/Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International Airport's estimate table lists a taxi to Port Everglades at $18 to $21 and a luxury sedan at $45, as estimates that may vary.
