What is the best way to get from PortMiami to Miami International Airport?

How we source facts

From PortMiami to Miami International Airport (MIA) is about 10 miles by road, cruise-terminal area to airport. The morning a cruise ends is the busiest hour a port has: thousands of people and their luggage reach the same road inside a short window, and the difference between a good morning and a bad one is whether a named car is waiting at an agreed point or you are joining a queue.

PortMiami's own directions page says taxis are available at all cruise terminals on cruise days and that ride-share has designated pick-up and drop-off zones, and lists each terminal, AA through J, with a street address (PortMiami, n.d.). Miami International's page puts the port about 9 miles from the airport (Miami-Dade Aviation Department, n.d.). Tell the desk the terminal letter from your cruise documents and the car is sent to that door, not to the port in general.

Give the desk your ship, the terminal if your cruise line has told you which, and your flight. The pickup is set backwards from the time you need to be at the airport, not forwards from when the ship docks, and the captain is at the agreed point with your name. Say how many cases: an Executive Sedan holds 2; a Luxury SUV holds 5; an Executive Sprinter holds 12.

The fare beside this page is for 10 miles, with the 20% service charge already in it. The fare for your trip is set when the exact addresses are routed, and you see it before you book. Booking the ride to the ship and the ride home together is one conversation and one confirmation.
