What is included in the price?
The figure you are quoted is the figure you book at. It includes the 20% service charge and the waiting time — 15 minutes at an ordinary pickup, 60 minutes after an arriving flight lands — and it does not move because it is raining or because it is New Year's Eve. Ride credit or a membership can lower it. Demand does not raise it.
The service charge is not a tip and is not a substitute for one being expected. It is included, you are not asked for anything at the kerb, and there is no screen to swipe while someone waits. People do add something after a long day or an early start, and it goes to the captain who drove you, but nobody is standing there while you decide.
What is not in the figure: tolls, parking where a venue charges it, and waiting beyond what is included. An hourly booking that runs over its hours or its included miles costs more, and the desk will tell you that before it does rather than after.
A flight that lands late is not waiting, and is not billed as waiting. That is worth saying plainly, because it is the charge people most expect to see and most resent.
If you are coming from somewhere where the quoted price is an opening position, this is the opposite of that. The quote is the arrangement, one car, one captain, one number, and the desk will put anything unusual in writing before you agree to it.
