Which hotels next to Port Everglades run a shuttle to the ship, and when does a car fit?
Two hotels beside Port Everglades print the facts: the Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina lists the port at 0.5 miles and a per-person shuttle, and Hyatt Place's shuttle runs at 10am, 11am, 12pm and 1pm (Hilton, n.d.; Hyatt Place, n.d.). A car covers the hours a shuttle does not.
Two hotels beside the port print the facts. The Hilton Fort Lauderdale Marina, 1881 SE 17th Street, lists Port Everglades at 0.5 miles and a Port Everglades shuttle priced per person, separate from a beach shuttle included in its resort fee, with check-in at 4:00 PM and check-out at 11:00 AM (Hilton, n.d.). Hyatt Place Fort Lauderdale Cruise Port & Convention Center, 1851 SE 10th Ave, says the port is about half a mile away and that its cruise-port shuttle runs at 10am, 11am, 12pm and 1pm, priced per person and arranged at the front desk the night before (Hyatt Place, n.d.). Each hotel's page, linked below, has its own fees as printed. Two more hotels near the airport, the Hampton Inn Fort Lauderdale Airport North Cruise Port and the Wyndham Garden Fort Lauderdale Airport & Cruise Port, print an airport shuttle rather than a port one, and neither page names a port shuttle or a distance to the port beyond "three miles" and "near" (Hilton, n.d.; Wyndham Hotels & Resorts, n.d.).
A posted shuttle fits a sailing whose check-in falls inside its hours. A car fits when it does not: a ship you want to reach before the first run, a party travelling together with its bags, or a day that starts at the airport rather than at the hotel. Both hotels print their distance from Fort Lauderdale-Hollywood International, a few miles, so the airport-to-hotel leg is short, and the hotels' pages differ slightly on the figure, so the car is quoted from the address, not from either page.
Neither page says whether its shuttle collects from the port after the cruise, so the ride back is the open question, and the car covers it. Port Everglades says porters hired by a cruise line can deliver bags to private cars, that people collecting returning guests may wait free in the cell phone lot until called, and that luggage cannot be left or stored at the port (Port Everglades, n.d.). Book the car to the hotel, the car to the ship and the car from the ship together, with the flight, and one desk holds all three.
