What happens to my booking in a hurricane?
If a hurricane or tropical storm warning or an evacuation order covers your trip, you can cancel without a fee and any deposit is refunded; when a storm is on the map the desk puts the site in storm mode, with a banner on every page, surcharges off and one message to everyone with a ride in the window.
If a hurricane or tropical storm warning, or an evacuation order, covers your trip, you can cancel without a fee and any deposit is refunded. That is written in the Terms, and it does not depend on anyone at the desk remembering it: the site watches the warnings, and a ride inside one is covered.
When a storm is on the map the desk switches the site into storm mode: every page carries a banner saying what the Terms say, new bookings for the window can be paused, demand surcharges stop, and everyone with a ride in the window can be told in one message.
Rides that go ahead go ahead on the fare agreed before the car moved. If you are flying out ahead of a storm, give the desk the flight number and the pickup moves with the airline's own changes.
